The ordinary people of colonial Delaware have left few traces above ground for us to see. But if we dig below the surface, we can find many things that these people left behind. Thanks to the efforts of the Delaware Department of Transportation and the archaeologists who work with them, we have come to know a few of the ordinary colonists rather well.
